North Coast Mustang of 3945 Church Street Willoughby, Ohio is not a reputable company

During February of 2010 I paid them $590 for a gas tank I needed for a car I was building. They didn't have it in stock but they took my money and told me they would send it to me as soon as it came in. I checked with them about once a month for almost a year. Every time I called they told me they still didn't have it. At one point, even though they had been telling me it was backordered, they asked me to prove that I had in fact paid them any money. I sent them the bank records that proved I had payed. Then they went back to saying it was on order but they didn't have it yet.

When I told them I want the tank or a refund they said I could have store credit but no refund. Store credit would not help. I still need a gas tank or a refund so I can buy one someplace else. That argument had no meaning for them. The person who answers the phone got more insulting and abusive each time I called. I still have no tank, no refund and no idea if I ever will.

I'm wondering if they have treated anyone else this way. If so, I recommend you file a consumer complaint with the Ohio Attorney Generals Office. It's a very easy form to fill out.

A search of the Better Business Bureau reveals that North Coast Mustang is not accredited so complaining to the BBB would probably be a waste of time.

UPDATE:
Finally in October 2011, after convincing North Coast that I was not going away and that I would hound them forever, suddenly the manufacturer had some to ship and I finally got what I paid for. It was not worth it. The price of their product was far too high and I will never buy from them again.
